Only a couple races that I saw on the list....

Leann is running the last Ghost Town Ultra. 38.5 miles. Wish I could have run that one. Crush it Leann!

Trent is running the Swamp Stomper 50K. Sounds awesome. Good luck Tent.

I didn't get signed up in time for Weymouth Woods 100K so figured I'd take a rest after the Harbison 50K last weekend. On a whim, emailed the RD who I'd met at the Landsford Canal 50K in July and she said HECK YAH....come on over. SO, looks like I'm getting up at 3AM and driving over to Fort Bragg. No intentions of running the full 100K. Will do at least a 50K and go from there.

Anyone else out there braving the cold and snow and racing this weekend?

Good luck all, run fast safe & long.

Lynne, wasn't Ft. Bragg where the runner was accidentally shot a few weeks ago? Did any details ever come out?

Good luck to all.

Now if I could get out of my neighborhood, I might even be able to run on roads.

Is this really the last year for Ghost Town? I knew the RD was having sponsorship problems, but I had no idea she was throwing in the towel. This is too bad, as I've never heard a bad thing about this event.

In any event, good luck Leann and Trent.

Kent...yes, it was a trail on the base. It was the last day of hunting season and the trail had been closed since October. There was a fat ass 50K scheduled to be run on that trail the day after the shooting. They moved it to the next day I think on another trail. The one I'm running is in Weymouth Woods which is in Southern Pines. That's on the western edge of the Fort Bragg reservation. Hunting season is over so hopefully no problems with that.

I hear you Michelle. The hill coming down from my house is ice. We're on our 5th day with no school. I think it may get above freezing today and melt some of it off. Smile My girls are going stir crazy trapped in the house for a week.

Last night I tested positive for influenza. This morning my temp was 102.8. Not looking like I will be toeing the line Sunday, but maybe I will recover miraculously before then. Fingers crossed.

Thanks!!

Good luck Leann!!!

So sorry Trent, I don't know if would be a good idea to race even if you started feelling better. Karma rockets for a speedy recovery.

I'm doing the AZ RNR Half - weather should be perfect - around 50 at the start.

I wouldn't exactly call it racing. Rolling Eyes

Good luck Andy!

Good luck, Andy. I think Kara Goucher is running that one, too, so the view should be nice.

Yes - but when you are way back its difficult to tell.

But I did win the age division for the second year in a row so I'm feeling pretty smug at the moment.

Kara won her age division as well but she probably doesn't care.
