Small race, funky-cool name. Any SoCal runners want to split a marathon with me?

Interest piqued? Feeling Herculean? More details:

Rocket Racing Productions is pleased to announce the Hercules Marathon and Half Marathon! Join us Oct 21 at 7am as we kick off this event!
This is an open course. Please be courteous to other pedestrians, runners, and cyclists on the beach path.

Course map:
Here is the 7.85 mi loop: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=5643063
5.25 loop: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=5643065
2.66 loop Thorton Ave about half way to 5.25 loop
2.17 mi mile loop Rose Ave going towards Thorton Ave http://www.gmap-pedometer.com?r=5634764

10 mi = 1 large loop and one 2.17 mi small loop, 7.85 plus 2.17 = 10.02
Half marathon = 1 medium loop and 1 large loop 5.25 plus 7.85 = 13.1
Marathon = 3 times large loops and 1 small loop (small loop ran first) = 23.55 plus 2.66 = 26.21
50k = 4 large loops = 31.4 mi

Time Limits: NONE!
DNF's: NONE! If you do not finish a distance, we will make a common distance (5k, 10k, 10mi, etc.) that you did finish. Everyone is a winner! To keep overhead low, this is a low-key event. Everyone gets a finisher's medal! Most importantly, ALL times will be posted on the results page.

Thanks for the thought. T-Bone is out of shape and up to his eyeballs in small children. (Oh, how far we fall.... Seems like just yesterday we were chugging down Boylston Street together, waving at the groupies, eyeing the finish line!)

Too bad my husband moved to Cleveland from SoCal or I would have come out and done it with you.

So you're saying that you wish your husband wasn't living with you? Interesting sentiment... Smile

Okay, I couldn't find a partner to create a relay team, so I just ran the Hercules as a half-marathon. Here are the results:

http://www.rocketracingproductions.com/Rocket_Racing_Productions/hercules_2_results_2.html

OF NOTE:
    • This was my first race in three years and finished solidly in the middle of the pack.
    • Someone named (Jennifer) Hercules ran this race. How cool is that?
    • Race Directors Michelle and Mark were extremely friendly and accommodating for this out-of-town runner. When I told Mark I was making a quilt from marathon shirts A through Z, he agreed to make a shirt for me. He sold it to me at cost (13 bucks). Now there's a RD going above and beyond! Please patronize their races. Hats off to M&M and Rocket Racing!
