And to demonstrate just how much of an idiot I am:

An early start at 6 a.m. is available only for marathoners who expect to maintain a pace of 13 minutes per mile or slower.

ya know, more marathons used to offer this a few years back - now even the smaller ones have a pace standard and no early start for us idiots... what do they think, that we enjoy getting up extra early and then getting lapped by most of the field? Clue, we're not starting early to win our age group...

I registered AGES ago for Yonkers (for the full). The race is now Sunday - and they just for the first time announced (that I saw, anyway, and I'm vigilant about these things) that there is a five hour cut-off. I kinda like to know that sort of information in advance...

Tracy - the hills on the Yonkers course suck - so just run half. I used to live in Hastings and train on the course all the time.

T-Mu, 1L is wrong. The hills on the Yonkers course swallow. Run the 1/2 and be very careful b/c the officials don't always do a great job of keeping cars off the course. Particularly on Nepperhan Ave.

Also, for 2012 - Shamrock (VA) on 3/18 (need for 50-and-DC), and Boston (4/16).

thanks!

Cancel Stump Jump on 10/1. (Molly xc meet in Charlotte)
Cancel Ridge to Bridge on 10/22. (Homecoming at WCU with Melanie)

I am going to add something on October 15th, just trying to make up my mind. It'll either be Cumberland Trail 50K or the North Face Endurance Challenge.

Thanks Ian.

Will do, Lynne - I'm out also for the Stump Jump (I didn't sign up in time and it closed on me!)

Yah, will be there all week. Unless I have to skip the race and go home early, which is a possibility. DD's bat mitzvah is 2 weeks later, monkey the week after that. So it is a busy time for me to be away. But if I am there, I'll be there! Smile

Apologies if this is a duplicate post, but can you scratch me from the RNR Vegas event? This semester's schedule is just not going to be conducive to training for it, considering that I'm basically starting over from scratch.

That looks very familiar. I think that is part of one of the courses for the 3 day Chattanooga stage race I ran in 2010. The Lulu Lake area?

Speaking of which, this is a little bit ahead of the game here, but I'd like to put down that Dawn and I will be doing the Stage Race in June 2013.

My running buddy, Summer, and I are thinking of running the stage race again this June if we can work out the logistics. We had a great time in 2010.....if you consider bee stings, horrible chafing, running out of water, and numerous bruises and cuts a good time Smile. I hear they are only accepting 3 day runners only this year. In the past you could run 1 stage, 2 stages, or all 3. I guess they want to cut out people with fresh legs winning the stages. LOL.

I think you and Dawn would have a great time Tracy. Summer and I stayed in a 2 bedroom suite and it worked out perfectly. We would finish the stage, return to the hotel and ice/take a nap, then go out to eat. The Chattanooga area is beautiful and the running community really puts on some fantastic races. Wish I lived closer so I could run more of them.

If I remember right, your race report was how the race showed up on my horizon Smile No chance you're thinking about the Scenic City half in May, is there? I'd like to do a trail race in Chattanooga this year to get myself prepared for the trails.

Kent...You missed the disclaimer about the weather Very Happy I always overbook this time of year cause some of the races I sign up for I get snowed or iced in and can't make it. I love my mountains but they are hell when planning winter races! If I make it to half of those I'll be happy.

Tracy...I haven't looked at May yet but there is a good chance I'll come run Scenic City again. I really enjoy running in that area and Scenic City is very well organized.

Put it down! I am all about public shaming to keep me in this.

Also put me down for the RnR Seattle Half on June 23, 2012.

please drop me from this race (could not get a cheap flight)
3/31/12 - Sand Hollow Marathon
Rita

Instead add me in for Missoula Marathon on 7/8/12.

If I ever get to use my round trip voucher I might get another race (or two) in this summer.

I suppse I could mention that my sister has talked me into running with her group in the Ragnar relay in NY, from Saratoga Springs UP to Lake Placid (and I mean UP). That is 9/28-29/12. How do I get myself talked into this stuff.

I haven't canceled my hotel room yet, but I did decide for certain that I will not be going to NOLA, so you can take me off of there Sad

Take me off the list for the New Orleans Half. The logistics are just too difficult with my Dad here in Atlanta. Add the following races; however:

2/18 Berry College Half Marathon Rome, GA (pace run)
3/18 Publix Georgia Half Marathon Atlanta, GA (pace run)
4/1 Cherry Blossom 10 Miler, Washington, DC

I'll probably end up doing one of our local races on the 3rd or 4th of March as well.

Please take me off for the Mardi Gras 1/2. Things are just too busy at work (we have the huge housewares show in Chicago that following week). I'm finding it hard justify being out of town right as all that comes to a head, and I'm one of the people going.

However, add me to the list for the Brew to Brew in KC on April 1st. Was recruited by a friend of mine who lives down there to run. Should be fun!

Ian: Please add me to the Knoxville 1/2 marathon. I ran 7.5 miles last week and zero the week before, so my base is pretty good.
