Yeah, everythings OK. Just venting. Had planned on a marathon pace long run this morning but my usual route was an ice rink for much of the way so anything fast was out of the question. This is also about the time each year when I've simply had enough of winter.

It sucks that the weather is screwing up your planned run, but glad to hear you didn't fall & break a bone or two.

I'm with you. I "ran" a 5k this morning with a course that was completely ice covered at some points. Why did I pay $20 to walk the (significant) treacherous parts of a flat course in a short race?

You can deal with cold and even get used to it, but ice just makes it impossible to train.

There were even ice patches on our 5K course Saturday morning here in the ATL. They had things coned off, but the first patch was at the top of the hill where you made a left turn - a bit tricky.

I agree with you 100% - Had 14 mile run on Sunday and did not want to do another one on the treadmill. Temp 30 perfect – but calling for sleet, snow and rain - needless to say weatherman was right for once. Got caught in a sleet storm and took a fall in the cemetery- torn the knee of my favorite running pants it was the first time ever I had someone pick me up - So I have a sprain ankle, nasty cut swollen knee.
(Maybe the spirits were trying to tell me something)

Alright, shoveling off someones stairs at 2 AM Tuesday morning and as I was about to walk down foot went out from under me. Nothing like a fall in slowmotion.

Needless to say, it took me a couple minutes to get up. The bruise on my lower torso is reddish/purple and resembles a mnarch butterfly in size. The swelling in the lower back is visible from across the room. Skinned elbow not to bad and the bang to the back of my head were not to bad.

The title to this thread is very fitting. I was luckyu because I only had a sweatshirt on and had the headblow could have been much worse for me had I been knocked unconscious.

I've been AWOL and all I can say is... this is an amazing first post to come back to. It pretty much sums up my winter. Now for the rest of the past year... I'll have to make other excuses. But coming back to TM is a first step.
