Marathon Presses On as Backlash Builds

Mary Wittenberg of New York Road Runners said the race was "about helping the city," and Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg said this "is a city where we have to go on."

Well, the race is certainly a PR disaster for NYRR. Anyone think that this could mean the end of Mary Wittenberg's leadership?

Just thinking of that today. She is already disliked by many. This is not her finest hour, although it is hard to come up with an example of anything positive she has done over the last year.

Are We Really Going To Run This Race?
It is difficult to look out at New York right now and see how the Marathon being run Sunday makes a tremendous amount of sense.
