No rest for the weary. I figure I can do a 14 week training cycle (started this week) to get ready for MB Marathon in mid-February . . . IF I can find that balance between recovering from Ridge to Bridge 3 weeks ago and building more fitness & speed. Here goes.
M - Rest
T - 4 (1 at 8:55, tempos at 7:52 and 7:45, last at 8:55)
W - 8 (9:19 pace, easy)
T - 4 (easy, no watch, no splits)
F - 6 (3 at/near tempo, about 9:21 pace for the easy miles, 7:52 pace for the tempos)
S - 5.5 for Ryan Shay (9:31 pace)
S - 12 (treated it as a 20/10 long run: 9:2x pace first half, 8:4x pace second half)
Total for Week: 39.5

not much of a week...
M-0-tired. parent teacher conference
Tu-0-quads sore
W-0-quads still a bit sore, out with track group (fund raiser for coach's Olympic quest)
Th-0-work holiday luncheon, it's started already...
F-3 on the treadmill while listening to my kid play his violin(*)
Sa-10, thought about Ryan Shay & his parents
Su-4 after sleeping 11 hours
17...

Last week before my last scheduled race of the year.
Mon: Rest
Tue: Run 8.8 miles
Wed: Run 6.0 miles, 8x400: 1:36, 1:36, 1:37, 1:37, 1:36, 1:39, 1:36, 1:36
Thu: Run 5.0 miles, Exercise Bike 1:45 (got stuck in a smoking room at the hotel, the gym didn't reek of smoke like my room!)
Fri: Run 4.2 miles
Sat: Rest
Sun: Run 9.1 miles (then sat at swim meet for 8 hours!)
Weekly: 33.1 miles

Hey Doug, sounds like you either didn't ask for a different room or they wouldn't accomodate you. I would write the company and complain maybe you could get a little cush back or a comp.
